About Canadian Immigrant Ambassadors
Canadian Immigrant Ambassadors was created to amplify the powerful stories, contributions, and achievements of immigrants who are helping to build Canada every single day.
Canada is a country built by immigrants. Across every province and territory, immigrants are contributing to the economy, strengthening communities, enriching culture, and helping businesses grow. Yet many of these stories are never told. This platform was created to change that by focusing on the positive impact immigrants are making and by giving visibility to individuals whose work deserves recognition.
As an immigrant to Canada myself — now a proud Canadian citizen of nearly two decades — this mission is deeply personal to me.
When I arrived in Canada from Kenya as a single mother with a young son, I did not know anyone. Like many newcomers, I had to start over. The journey was not easy. It was stressful, emotionally draining, and required tremendous resilience. Back home, I had been a high school teacher and later a senior banking manager responsible for a national card division with over 160 employees and full profit-and-loss responsibility. Yet when I arrived in Canada, I was told I did not have “Canadian experience.”
That experience was humbling.
To me, banking is global. A credit card developed by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express works the same whether in Nairobi or Toronto. The fundamentals of leadership, business development, and financial management do not change across borders. However, like many immigrants, I had to prove myself again.
Through persistence, advocacy, and building the right relationships, I secured my first opportunity with TD Canada Trust within three months. That opportunity allowed me to rebuild my professional path in Canada and reinforced something I strongly believe today: immigrants do not lack talent — they often lack access and connections.
Canadian Immigrant Ambassadors was created to help bridge that gap.
Our Purpose
This platform exists to support immigrants at different stages of their journey by:
• Showcasing success stories of immigrants making meaningful contributions across Canada
• Connecting newcomers with employers and professional opportunities
• Supporting international students with mentorship connections
• Helping newcomers understand Canadian workplace culture and expectations
• Creating networks where immigrants can support one another
• Promoting positive immigrant contributions to Canadian society
We believe visibility creates opportunity. When immigrants see what others have achieved, it creates confidence, direction, and hope.
Supporting Newcomers and International Students
Many newcomers arrive with strong education and experience but lack guidance on how to navigate the Canadian professional environment. Through this platform, we aim to connect immigrants with organizations willing to mentor, guide, and provide opportunities.
For example, we have supported international students studying law and paralegal programs by helping connect them with law firms willing to provide internships and mentorship. Sometimes success is not about qualifications — it is about access to the right door and someone willing to open it.
Standing for Professionalism, Integrity, and Law-Abiding Success
We believe strongly in building a community of immigrants who contribute positively and uphold Canadian values of integrity, respect, and hard work.
While we celebrate success, we also recognize that immigrants can sometimes face challenges such as discrimination or unfair treatment. We do not ignore these realities. When such situations arise, we aim to guide individuals toward the right professional support systems, including human rights resources and legal professionals when necessary.
At the same time, we are very clear about our values.
This platform supports immigrants who are committed to building positive futures through honest work, professionalism, and respect for the law. We do not support criminal activity or behavior that harms communities. Our focus is on immigrants who want to succeed the right way and contribute meaningfully to Canada.
A Platform Built on Shared Experience
Canadian Immigrant Ambassadors is more than a visibility platform. It is a community built on lived experience, resilience, and the belief that success becomes easier when we support one another.
My journey taught me that one connection can change a life. One opportunity can restore confidence. One mentor can open a door that seemed permanently closed.
This platform exists to help create those connections for others.
Because when immigrants succeed, Canada succeeds.
